9/1/16
Iowa, Monroe. 1972 Old Settlers Dollar. Unknown mintage. Catalog value $3.50. This one started off with an opening bid of $9.99 with FREE shipping start, but when no bids were forthcoming, it became a BIN item with gradually decreasing prices - currently $7.19, still with the FREE shipping.
9/2/16
New Mexico, Alamagordo. 1958 60th Anniversary Half Dollar. Unknown mintage. Catalog value $7.50. A somewhat scarce token but not worth the $99.99 plus $6.00 opening bid! There were no bids and it is still available as of November 3 at the same opening bid.
9/3/16
Illinois, La Salle. 1967 Starved Rock Coin Club / Illinois Numismatic Association “Commemorative / Souvenir / Half-Dollar / NOV. 18-19. Not listed because it does not celebrate a significant community event, but some MTC collectors collect it because it says Souvenir Half Dollar. I’ve got one in my “wannabe” collection. This sale was for a lot of 3 uncirculated pieces. Start was $12.99 + $4.95, but there were no bids. It was then lowered to $10.99 + $3.99, then $9.99 + $3.99, then $6.99 + $3.99 where it stayed until the listing was finally ended unsold on November 5.
9/3/16
Kwajalein. Undated Kwaj Karnival Dollar. The start was $9.25 with FREE shipping. I guess everyone who wanted one of these has gotten theirs, because there were no bids. Not relisted.
9/4/16
Colorado, Fort Morgan. 1959 Town 75th Anniversary / Rush to the Rockies Centennial Half Dollar. Mintage 5,000. Catalog value $5.00. This auction was for one in just XF/AU condition. The starting price was $49.95 with FREE shipping. Here is the way the Colorado seller described the piece:
“1959 Rush to the Rockies Commemorative - Rare!!! So-Called Dollar/Trade Token
Note: This is a Congressional Authorized Official Medal on Obverse side and a commercial trade token good for 50 cents on reverse!!!
A SUPER RARE variety that was obviously an oversight and you may not ever find an official medal/trade token hybrid again!!”
Hmmm. There were no bids and it is still available at the same opening bid. The current listing ends November 16.

There was clear wear, as well as scuffs and abrasions. Start $19.95 + $2.70. There were 15 bids by 6 bidders and it sold $89.00. Encased in a World Premier holder which at first glance appears to be a slab, but isn’t.
9/11/16
Guam. 1974 Guam Dollar described as struck in Silver and numbered 224. This was a bright and gemmy specimen, but it does not appear to be silver. The edge, which would tell the whole story was not described. The seller described it as catalog # 5 in Unusual World Coins, which is a silver issue. Unknown mintage. 9/13/16
Wyoming, Basin. 1971 Diamond Anniversary Dollar. Unknown mintage. Catalog value $4.50. This specimen was called Very Good by the seller, but its condition was definitely the typical Uncirculated. 9/15/16
Montana. 1964 Statehood Diamond Jubilee / Territorial Centennial Dollar struck in silver. Variety with STERLING and number (502) on edge. Mintage reported as 1,000 - but probably higher because they show up much more frequently than a token of this mintage should. Catalog value $15.00. Start was $34.99 plus $4.14. No bids, so after a few weeks the price was lowered to $32.99, but that didn’t work either. Still available at that price in late November.
9/16/16

The seller noted that it was marked STERLING on the edge, but did not re-confirm the number. The start was $32.00 plus $3.00 shipping, but there was no interest at that price. By the time the seller ended the listing unsold on October 3, the price had fallen to $25.60.

9/20/16
New York, New York City. 1909 Hendrik Hudson Daalder - the small gold dollar size, struck in aluminum. Listed as HK- 374. This one was graded AU-58 by NGC, but in my opinion it was an unusually worn and scratched Very Fine. Priced at $120.00 Buy It Now. No bids.

9/21/16
Oregon, Pendleton. Undated Pendleton Round Up Meal Ticket for the Let ‘Er Buck Room. Unknown mintage. Not previously cataloged - and probably not destined for inclusion, but I didn’t have the piece and when one came up a couple years ago remember I did not bid anywhere near high enough. This time I was luckier and I won it for $8.50 after an $8.00 + $1.00 start. A good addition to my wannabe MTC collection.
9/21/16
Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. 1926 United States Sesquicentennial Treasure Island Doubloon. Scarcer uniface Liberty Bell / skull and crossbones design. Unknown mintage. Not previously cataloged. There have been no takers and it is still available at the same price as I type this on November 25.
9/23/16
Wisconsin, Black River Falls. 1983 Centennial Dollars in gilt brass and oxidized brass, both numbered 47. Mintage reported as 250 pieces each. Catalog value $8.50. I spotted these two as a Buy It Now offering for just $5.95 plus $2.75 shipping for the pair, and just had to buy them. Cheap!
9/24/16

The current listing ends on November 26.
9/25/16
Kentucky, Ashland. 1954 Centennial Half Dollar. Unknown mintage. Catalog value $10.00 in Uncirculated condition. This one made that grade and had a $4.99 plus $1.50 start. I won it for the opening bid. This was a good deal for a fully uncirculated piece.
9/25/16
Montana. 1964 Statehood 75th, Territorial Centennial Dollar struck in .999 Fine Silver. No - from the illustration, clearly a nickel-silver issue - and all known silver examples are marked STERLING. The seller did not illustrate or describe the edge, but he did give the weight as 23.4 grams, and *that is the weight of the NS examples. Still, it was offered as “999 Fine Silver” and sold for about what a sterling silver specimen would have brought. After a 99¢ plus $2.95 start and 10 bids by 5 bidders, it sold for $17.16.
9/25/16

9/30/16
Kansas. 1961 Official Centennial coin for Sherman County. Mintage unknown. Previously uncatalogued as an individual issue. Sherman is a rather scarce county, so I was rather surprised when it sold to the second bidder for only $3.24 after a $2.99 start. Postage was an additional $2.75.
9/30/16
Michigan, Traverse City. 1947 Centennial Quarter. Holed, as all are. Unknown mintage. Catalog value $4.50. This was a nice fully brilliant uncirculated example, which is the way they usually come. Offered for $7.50 plus $2.62. There were no bids and it was offered at the same opening bid until November 20, when the seller finally ended the listing unsold.
