8/5/16

Arizona, Wilcox.  1973 Rex Allen Days Copper Dollar.  No way to tell from the poor photo if this was the numbered edge or plain edge variety.  Unknown mintage for either variety.  The unnumbered one seems a bit more common, and I catalog it for $6.00, the numbered one for $6.50.  This example started at $1.99 plus $2.95 for shipping and ended up at $2.81 after 3 bids by 2 bidders.

Arizona, Lake Havasu City.  1973 London Bridge Dollar.  Mintage 25,000.  Catalog value $10.00.  Start was $6.99 plus $4.00 shipping.  Sold to a single bidder at that price.

8/8/16

California, Lassen County.  1964 Centennial Half Dollar.  Mintage 10,000.  Comes in two varieties, both of which catalog for $3.00.  This was a little better because it was still on the card of issue, which should double its value.  Sold to a single bidder at the opening bid of $5.95 plus $2.60 shipping.

8/8/16

Hawaii, Maui.  Set of 5 Maui Dollars,  2002 to 2006 in presentation folder.  This set was offered for $9.99 plus $4.00 shipping.  There were two bids by two bidders, and it sold for $15.10.

8/8/16

Kansas, Leavenworth.  1974 Buffalo Bill Days Commemorative Silver Dollar struck in nickel-silver.  Mintage 1,000.  Catalog value $7.50.  Started as an auction item with a $14.99 plus $2.50 start, this piece did not sell and was made a BIN item which is still available two months later.

8/9/16

Hawaii.  “1893” Queen Liliuokalani  Akaha Dala in gold anodized aluminum, still in the original post card style mailing folder.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $7.50.  This is a scarce item, but I don’t think it is worth the $99.00 with Free shipping opening bid the seller hoped for. A Month later, with no bids, it went down to a $75.00 Buy It Now price.  The current offering, ending on October 14, is still at $75.00 BIN, but with a MAKE OFFER option.

8/9/16

8/10/16

Texas.  1936 Republic of Texas Dollar struck in silver.  Unknown mintage, but it was formerly reported to be 22 pieces according to the second edition of Unusual World Coins.  Since that edition the mintage has not been noted.  I catalog it for $35.00.  This one was available for a starting bid of $219.99 with FREE shipping.  There were two bids and it sold for $222.50.

8/11/16

Arizona, Tucson.  1933 Wolfville Western Days Souvenir Dollar.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $6.50.  Also collected by So-Called Dollar collectors as HK-689 so it often brings higher prices.  This one was slabbed and graded MS63RB by NGC.  It started at $49.00 with FREE shipping and sold for $51 after two bids.

8/11/16

New York, NYC.  1909 Hendrik Hudson Daalder muled with the Sommers Islands die reverse.  A circa 1960 concoction made to sell to collectors.  This one the copper version.  It sold to a single bidder at the $39.00 plus $2.95 opening.  I don’t currently list these, but if I do include the original 1909 Hendrik Hudson issues in the next edition, I will be including the muled ones as well.  Another one was offered on August 23, by a different seller, for $14.50 with FREE shipping.  This time there were two bids by two different bidders and it sold for $21.50.

8/12/16

Montana, North Central.  1989 Centennial Dollar.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $5.00.  The start was only $1.95 plus $2.45, but after 8 bids by 2 bidders it sold for $7.50.

8/12/16

Nebraska, Johnson County - Tecumseh.  1967 Nebraska Centennial Dollar, lot of 30 pieces.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $4.00 each.  This group had been offered for a couple weeks earlier at a much higher price, but the seller decided to lower the price down to $10.00 with FREE shipping.  Surprisingly, I was the only bidder and won it for the opening bid.  Way too cheap!

8/12/16

Nebraska, Nemaha County.  1967 Nebraska Centennial Dollar, lot of 19 pieces.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $3.50 each.  This group had been being offered for a much higher price, but the seller decided to lower the price down to a $10.00 start with FREE shipping.  Surprisingly, I was the only bidder and won it for the opening bid.  Too cheap!

8/12/16

North Dakota, Little Missouri.  Undated Roughrider Country Dollar.  Private issue for Little Missouri Saloon and Dining.  This looks like a MTC, but it does not commemorate anything and is strictly a merchant token, and therefore not listable in my catalog.  The token started at $7.95 plus $1.85, and sold for a remarkable $32.00 after 7 bids by 4 bidders.

8/13/16

California, Paradise-Magalia.  1963 Gold Nugget Celebration Half Dollar.  Unknown mintage but quite scarce.  Fewer than 1 in 10 Gold Nugget Celebration coins have the 1963 date.  I catalog them for $12.50.  This example in AU/UNC condition started at 99¢ plus the same amount for postage.  There were 19 bids by 2 bidders, and it ended up selling for $15.00.  All but the first and last bid were by a determined bidder who was willing to go up to $14.50, but then stopped.  I wonder what the winner’s maximum bid was.

8/13/16

Oregon, Portland.  1913 Rose Festival “Contributors Medal Fifty Cents”.  Unknown mintage.  Not Cataloged.  Some MTC collectors regard this as a legitimate Municipal, but I am on the fence.  For the sake of inclusion, which is the direction we seem to be going, it may be included in the next edition.  Not a hard item to locate in Very Fine, but very hard to find in AU or UNC.  This one was not close - it was a well-worn Fine, with heavy scratches.  Offered for $10.00 plus $3.00 for a couple weeks, then it was made a BIN item at $9.00 plus $3.00 for a while before being made a bid item again, still at $9 + $3, for the last month or so.  The current listing ends on October 13.

8/14/16

Florida.  Undated Sunshine Dollar that might have been struck in antiqued brass - a composition I am not aware of - but was probably just a circulated example that had the bright finish worn off.  This XF/AU one sold to a single bidder at the opening bid of $4.95 plus $2.60.  I didn’t bid, but had I thought it was really an antiqued finish one, I definitely would have.  Now I’ll never know, so I guess I should have bid just to be sure!

8/14/16

Indiana, Cass County.  Ironhorse Festival Dollars and Medals, all antiqued brass, seven pieces 1981 to 1994.  Only 4 were Dollars, the others medals.  Bidding started at just $9.99 with FREE shipping.  I won them, too cheaply, as the second bidder at $10.50.

8/14/16

Ohio, Brooklyn.  1967 Centennial Souvenir “Coyne”.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $7.50.  Offered at a starting bid of $19.98 with FREE shipping.  The start was lowered to $13.50 for the sales beginning September 22.  Still available on October 13.

8/15/16

Hawaii, Kauai.  1974 Kauai Dollar struck in Silver, version with number block, but with no number applied.  The start was $39.99 with FREE shipping, and it sold for a respectable $88.66 after just 2 bids.

8/15/16

Hawaii, Maui.  1974 Maui Dollar in Sterling Silver, variety with high rounded clouds.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $17.50.  Sold to a single bidder at the $39.95 with FREE shipping opening bid.

8/15/16

Iowa, Battle Creek.  1965 Centennial Half Dollar.  Mintage reports vary: One source says 750, the other exactly twice that, 1,500.  Catalog value $20.00.  This was a real gem, but I was the only one who wanted to pay the $9.99 plus $2.80 opening bid.  I thought it was a real give-away!

8/15/16

Nebraska, Chadron.  1960 Diamond Jubilee Half Dollar.  Silver in color, so probably the Silver plated version (1,000 struck - catalog $6.00) and not the rare (25 struck - catalog $35.00) Sterling Silver version which is marked STERLING on the edge.  The seller did not describe the edge, and there is no way to tell the two apart from photos, so who can say for sure which it was.  Started at 99¢ plus $2.99 shipping, but after 15 bids by 4 bidders it sold for $9.01.

8/15/16

South Dakota.  1971 South Dakota Dollar.  Mintage 6,000.  Catalog value $3.50.  Offered for a $7.95 start plus a $1.85 shipping charge.  There were no bids and it was made a BIN item at the same price  The sale was ended with the item still unsold two months later.

8/15/16

8/15/16

South Dakota.  1986 South Dakota Dollar.  Mintage 800.  Catalog value $5.00.  Offered for a $7.95 start plus a $1.85 shipping charge.  The first year of this 20 year series.  When there were no bids it became a BIN item at the same price.  Still available in the Seller’s Store for the same cost in mid-October.

8/16/16

Montana.  1964 State Diamond Jubilee, Territory Centennial Dollar.  Regular issue in nickel-silver.  Mintage unknown, but large.  Catalog value $2.50.  Offered with a starting bid of $2.99 plus $2.60, but after being listed at that price for nearly 2 months, the seller finally ended the listing unsold on October 10.

8/16/16

Texas, Mineral Wells.  1925 Dime.  This example had been buried and was harshly cleaned and heavily corroded on both sides.  Start was $11.99 plus $3.00.  After 6 bids by 4 bidders it sold for $22.25.

8/17/16

Alaska, Anchorage.  1967 Dave’s Alaskan Trade Dollar.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $4.00.  Numbered 3129 on the obverse.  The start was $1.00 plus $2.62 shipping.  It sold for $7.05 after 4 bids by 2 bidders.

8/17/16

Hawaii, Honolulu.  1990 Honolulu Dala, gold plated.  Unknown mintage.  Not previously cataloged.  Sold to some lucky collector for the low Buy It Now price of $5.00 plus $2.80 shipping.

8/17/16

Nevada, Las Vegas.  “1878” Las Vegas Dollar, Convention Center reverse, struck in antiqued nickel-silver.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $3.50.  Bidding started at $66.00 plus $2.62, or you could have jumped on this for the $100.00 Buy It Now price.  No bids.  Not relisted.

8/18/16

Illinois, Delavan.  1962 QuasquiCentennial Half Dollar.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $3.50.  The sale was for a nice uncirculated example for $4.95 plus $2.60.  No bids.  Then it became a BIN item but nobody seemed interested.  It is still available, with the current listing ending on October 21.

8/18/16

Michigan, Oscoda - Au Sable.  1948 Centennial Quarter.  Normally found with an antiqued nickel finish, this was the rare unplated version in plain brass, and in fully uncirculated condition.  It was offered starting at $4.99 plus $2.75 postage.  I was the only bidder for this treasure, and won it for the opening bid!

8/18/16

Ohio, Akron.  1925 Centennial 50¢ or $1 Discount on Purchase from the Akron Truss Company.  Very Fine condition and slightly pitted.  Cleaned.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $12.50. The same token that was offered for 8 weeks starting in June, and then ended for a couple days this month. Back again for the same starting bid of $35.00, plus an additional $4.25 for shipping.  There were no bids but it continued to be listed at the same start since that time.  The current listing ends on October 30.  NOTE**** Still following this piece - The seller continued to list the coin at the same price until January 5, when the still unsold listing was mercifully deleted.

8/19/16

Texas, Hillsboro (Hill County).  1965 Diamond Jubilee Half Dollar.  Mintage 4,100.  Catalog value $3.50.  This was a nice example with a heavy die break at 1:00, but before the cud appeared.  It had a start of $5.25 with FREE shipping for two weeks, then the seller ended the listing unsold.

8/19/16

Virginia, Norton.  1969 75th Anniversary Half Dollar.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $10.00.  A very scarce issue that apparently has been on Ebay for a while, but since it is a Buy It Now item - which I don’t follow at all - I didn’t notice until I stumbled onto it just now.  I suspect it has been on for a while because there were two watchers - perhaps waiting for a price reduction, and because the seller was already using the Make Offer option which most sellers do not use until they realize their item is not attracting bids.  The seller had this About Uncirculated piece priced at $35.00 plus $3.02 shipping.  Too much in todays market, but hard-to-find ones like this will be in high demand when MTC collecting gets started again.  Still available in the Seller’s Store as of October 31.****Still $35.00 at the end of January!

8/20/16

Idaho, Wallace. Undated (1958?) World’s Silver Mining Capital.  Sweet’s Lounge Good For One Drink token similar to So-Called Dollar HK-516. Currently Unlisted.  Offered by a So-Called Dollar dealer as a tie-in to the regular 75th Anniversary of Mining in the Coeur d’Alene SCD.  The start was $35.00 with FREE shipping, but there were no bids and it was not relisted.  I have been debating listing this issue for a while.  With the normal reverse replaced by a “Good For” die, the commemorative aspect of the piece is unclear.  Also, since I don’t believe I ever saw an example of this piece before the late 60’s, I am not even certain it was issued for the 1958 Celebration.  Let’s see if I can find a few of these on Ebay so I can determine the value.  At the moment I feel it is a $6.50 to $7.50 item - if it is listable at all.

8/20/16

Illinois, Chicago.  “1878” (1980) Chicago Dollar,  struck in oxidized brass.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $4.00.  This had a 99¢ plus $2.00 start, and drew just two bids, but sold for $6.38.

8/20/16

(West Virginia, Bluefield).  1983 Pocahontas Coalfield Centennial Three Dollars. Not previously listed in the catalog.  The opening price was $10.95 with FREE shipping, and I was the only bidder.  It was a bit steep, but I bid on this one because it was in a cardboard holder inscribed with a commemorative description for the Descendant’s Breakfast on August 20, 1983, which I had not seen before.

8/21/16

California, San Diego.  Undated (1935-1936) El Cafe Solano in the Spanish Village at the San Diego Fair (California Pacific  International Exposition) Good For 10¢ merchant token.  Unlisted, but a possible candidate for inclusion in the next edition.  This one started at just 99¢, attracted 11 bids from 6 bidders, and sold for a remarkable $89.88!

8/21/16

Kansas. 1961 Official Centennial coin for Wichita Junior Achievement.  Unknown mintage.  Not previously listed individually.  Very scarce, as are most of the non-county issues.  Offered for $9.99 plus $2.00 shipping.  This was an issue I did not have, so I was very pleased to win it for $10.49 - there was only one other bidder who bid the minimum, and I won it for the next bid increment.  Cool!

8/21/16

Nebraska, Chadron.  1960 75th Anniversary Half Dollar in silver plate.  Mintage 1,000, minimum.  Catalog value $6.00.  This was a very attractive nicely toned specimen that looked silver, but was not offered as such.  The seller did not even mention the composition.  Offered for $9.99 plus $2.50 shipping.  Offered for three weeks, until September 4th, without a bid.  At that time the seller ended the listing unsold.

8/21/16

Oregon, Cottage Grove.  1963 Bohemia Days Half Dollar.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $5.00.  This example in XF-AU condition, which is typical.  For some reason, this token seldom appears in nice Uncirculated condition.  Offered for $4.99 plus $2.75 shipping.  There were no bids and it was not relisted.

8/22/16

Kansas, Gove.  1965 Leather Dime.  Not listed in earlier editions.  Supposedly issued in 5 denominations from 5¢ to $1 by Litson’s Leathers for some sort of community event.  Very scarce, but not proven to be a MTC.  Start was $9.99 plus $2.00.  There were two bids and I won it for $15.26.  This was a denomination I did not have.

8/22/16

Michigan, Mason County.  1955 Centennial Quarter.  Unknown Mintage.  Catalog value $4.50.  Offered for a start of $14.99 plus $3.00 shipping.  About Uncirculated condition.  There were no bids and the token was not relisted.

8/23/16

Hawaii.  1875-1899 Princess Kaiulani Dala in Gold Anodized Aluminum.  Unknown mintage. Catalog value $4.00.  Offered for $99.00 with FREE shipping.  This example was still in its cardboard mailing/display folder.  There were no bids and it has been offered at the same price ever since.  The current listing ends on November 5.

8/24/16

Oregon, Beaverton.  1968 75th Anniversary Half Dollar.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $10.00.  This was part of a group of 12 different MTCs offered as a lot starting at 99¢. There were 4 bids by 4 bidders and the group sold for $12.50.  The postal charge of $7.80 kept this lot out of the giveaway category.  The 11 other pieces were all common issues.

8/24/16

Oregon, Warm Springs.  Undated Kah-nee-ta Dollar in Gold Anodized Aluminum.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $4.00.  This piece was offered for $8.00 plus an additional dollar for shipping.  No bids.  Not relisted.  This is a trade token, not a MTC, and will be deleted from future editions of the catalog.

8/25/16

Kansas.  1961 Official Centennial Coin of Barber County.  Unknown mintage.  Not previously listed individually.  Offered for $6.99 plus $3.75 shipping.  There were no bids the first week, but the following week it sold to a single bidder at the opening price. Barber is a rather scarce county, and I think the buyer got a good deal.

8/26/16

Ohio, Green Township.  1959 Sesquicentennial “Valuable” Coin in Aluminum.  Mintage 13,000.  Catalog value $5.00.  Extremely Fine condition, and typically found better.  Offered for a start of $6.00 plus $2.80 for shipping.  After a few weeks with no action it was converted to a Buy It Now item for $4.99 plus $2.80.  It lasted 2 more weeks as a BIN item, and then the seller ended the listing unsold.  These coins were good for a discount on a subscription to the local newspaper.

8/27/16

Hawaii, Maui.  1973 Maui Dollar in oxidized brass - variety with high rounded clouds.  Mintage reported as 51,725.  Catalog value $3.50.  After 6 bids from 3 bidders this token rose from its 1¢ plus 94¢ shipping start to $5.70 - an imprssive price for what is probably the easiest of all the Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce Dollars to obtain.

8/27/16

Montana, Fort Benton.  1971 (1972) 125th Anniversary Dollar.  Mintage 14,000.  Catalog value $4.00.  Sold to a single bidder (who placed a second bid which turned out to be unnecessary) for the opening bid of $9.99 plus $2.75.

8/28/16

Missouri, Keytesville (Chariton County).  1966 Court House Centennial Dollar.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $6.50.  The start was $4.95 plus $2.60 shipping, and it sold for $6.38 after two bids.

8/28/16

New York, Beacon.  1963 Golden Jubilee Half Dollar.  Mintage unknown.  Catalog value $4.50 for the up/up orientation, $7.50 for the scarcer up/down orientation.  No way to tell which version this was from the photos.  Offered for a start of $12.99 with FREE shipping.  Too much for this About Uncirculated example, and there were no bids.  The seller ended the auction and madie the token a Buy It Now item for $17.99, still with the FREE shipping.  It is still available, if you need it, as I type this on October 26.

8/28/16

South Dakota.  2016 “1 oz Silver Proof State Dollar” with a Sioux warrior in full headdress.  Not previously listed.  Offered at a $25.00 start with a buyers fee added after the sale in an amount of up to 30%, depending on how wuch the item sells for!  This was some sort of live / Ebay auction.  A single bidder bid 23 times in $2 increments until he won the item for $69.00.  I guess he was competing against floor bidders at the auction site.  I had not seen this “Dollar” before, and only one side was pictured - that side read SIOUX / 999 SILVER 2016 ONE DOLLAR ONE OUNCE.  Seems like it should be listed.  The same seller also had other items from this series - 2015 Alaska Eskimo, 2015 Idaho Blackfoot, 2015 Montana Crow and 2015 New Mexico Navajo, all of which brought similarly high prices.

8/28/16

Washington, Auburn.  1968 75th Anniversary Dollar in bonded silverclad - still in the Franklin Mint display card.  Mintage 550.  Catalog value $12.50.  Offered for a $6.98 start with FREE shipping.  Sold to a single lucky bidder.  Me!  While checking this listing today to type it up, I noted that Ebay suggested another one of these by a different seller offered for a BIN price of $5.00 plus $2.14 shipping.  I went ahead and bought that one too.  I passed on a third specimen priced at a Buy It Now price of $9.99 plus $3.62.

8/28/16

Wisconsin, Milwaukee.  1902 Jahrmarkt Dime.  Previously unlisted - and maybe it will stay that way.  This is a nice aluminum token good for refreshments at the annual fair celebrating German food and culture.  This nearly uncirculated piece sold to a single bidder at the $9.99 plus $2.50 opening bid.  Seems pretty cheap for such an old token.

8/29/16

Georgia, Stone Mountain.  “1860” Stone Mountain Railway Silver Dollar.  Silver plated base metal.  Not previously listed.  Offered for $7.99 plus $2.45 shipping. I was the only bidder and won it for the opening bid.  This item is 2 1/4 inches in diameter, and I do not usually list the oversized tourist souvenir coins, but this one has everything it needs to be a MTC.  I think I’ll just stick it in my “wannabe” collection, but not put it in the catalog.

8/29/16

Kentucky, Perryville.  1962 Civil War Battle of Perryville Centennial Half Dollar with 4/12/62 redemption date.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $5.00.  A nice uncirculated copy of the easier-to-obtain redemption date of this issue.  Sold to a single bidder for the opening bid of $8.99 plus $4.00 shipping.

8/29/16

Oregon, Clatsop County.  1959 Oregon Centennial Half Dollar.  Mintage 20,000.  Catalog value $3.50.  Up for bid starting at $7.00 with FREE shipping.  There were 2 bids by as many bidders and the token sold for $7.50.

8/30/16

Arizona, Lake Havasu City. Lot of 30 different London Bridge Dollars 1978 to 2000.  Includes at least 1 metal variety for each year, including 3 silver issues (not mentioned by the seller).  The start was $95.00 with an additional $20.00 for shipping.  The coins were housed in a very nice glass-covered wooden frame.  Although this was quite a bargain, especially with 3 ounces of silver, no one bid.  I think the reason for that is that no mention was made about how the coins were held in place.  There were no cut-outs for the coins, and it is possible that they were glued onto the backing.  Not relisted.

8/30/16

Hawaii.  1883-1983 King Kalakaua Centennial Dala “Die Set-up Trial”.  Three of these tokens struck onto 3 of the corners of a square piece of white-metal scrap with most of the interior removed producing a round central hole.  The three “Dalas” are incomplete, but in choice cameo proof-like condition.  The seller called these Die Set-up Trials, but I think they were produced as novelties.  It wouldn’t make much sense to test the strike of the press with incomplete planchets.  I know of several examples of this interesting item.  This had a 99¢ with FREE shipping start.  It attracted 10 bids from 8 bidders and ended up selling for $67.76.

8/30/16

Montana, Billings. 1969 State Fair / Lewis and Clark Dollar, struck in golden bronze.  Mintage 1,580.  Catalog value $6.50.  Priced at $5.95 with $2.60 more for shipping.  This item was listed unsuccessfully for four weeks before being changed to a Buy It Now item at the same price.  It is still available - the current listing ends on November 2.

8/30/16

New York, New York City.  1909 Hudson Fulton Exposition Hendrik Hudson Mini Aluminum Daalder.  So-Called Dollar HK-374.  Not previously listed.  Graded by the seller as Almost Uncirculated, but probably Extremely Fine at best.  This had a 99¢ start, drew 9 bids by 7 bidders, and sold for $19.95.  Postage was an additional $2.75.

8/30/16

South Carolina, Greenville.  1940 National Cotton Festival Cotton Nickel.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $7.50.  A neat MTC printed on heavy-duty cotton canvas.  Offered for $7.99 plus $2.00 shipping.  There were no bids this week, and it was repeatedly relisted until October 14, when the seller ended the listing unsold.  This item is due for a slight reduction in catalog value.

8/30/16

South Dakota, Sturgis.  1976 Bear Butte State Park U. S.  Bicentennial Quarter.  Unknown mintage. Catalog value $3.00 or $5.00 depending on orientation - which could not be determined from the photographs or description.  The start was 49¢, which is what it sold for to a single bidder.  Unfortunately, the $5.99 shipping charge took this item out of the bargain category.

8/30/16

Wyoming, Laramie.  1968 Centennial Half Buck.  Variety with two fence lines and recut reverse inscription.  Catalog value $4.00.  There was a 99¢ start and a $2.99 shipping fee.  After two bids the token sold for $1.25.

8/31/16

Arizona, Lake Havasu City.  1973 London Bridge Dollar cast in Pewter.  Mintage 25,000.  Catalog value $10.00.  After a $5.00 plus $2.40 start, the token attracted 4 bids from 2 bidders and sold for $8.50.

8/31/16

Arizona, Lake Havasu City.  1976 Bicentennial London Bridge Dollar struck in Copper.  Mintage 25,000.  Catalog value $5.00.  This piece was offered for a starting bid of $5.68 plus $2.62 shipping.  It was offered unsuccessfully until the week ending October 9 when the opening was raised slightly to $5.95.  This change did not attract a bid, so the seller ended his listing unsold.

8/31/16

Iowa, Emmetsburg.  2008 Irish Dollar.  Too new to be in the last edition.  Decreasing mintages have caused later issues, such as this, to become quite hard-to-find.  Offered for, and sold to a single bidder at the $5.99 plus $3.62 starting bid.

8/31/16

Iowa, Emmetsburg.  2010 Irish Dollar.  Too new to be in the last edition.  The later issues of this series have been becoming scarcer and scarcer.  This one found a home when a single bidder met the $5.99 plus $3.62 shipping fee. Sold to the same bidder who won the 2008 issue above. That probably means he was able to get the two coins for a single $3.62 shipping fee.

8/31/16

Kansas.  1961 Official Centennial Coin for Gray County.  Unknown mintage, but Gray is a hard county to find.  I was the only bidder and won it for $3.99 plus $2.65 shipping.

8/31/16

Minnesota, Virginia.  1958 Minnesota Centennial Iron Nickel.  Mintage 40,000.  Catalog value $2.50.  A So-Called Dollar issue, HK-518A.  This piece was encapsulated in a NGC “Slab” and graded MS-62.  Offered for a start of 99¢ with $1.95 shipping.  There were 7 bids by 4 bidders, and the token sold for $20.50.

8/31/16

Oregon, Clatsop County.  1959 Oregon Centennial Half Dollar.  Mintage 20,000.  Catalog value $3.50.  Up for bid starting at $4.83 plus $2.62 additional for postage.  Offered repeatedly at that price until October 9, when the listing ended unsold. For the last week the seller raised the opening bid slightly, to $4.95.
