Municipal Tokens on Ebay January, 2014

1/1/14

Maine, Berwick. 1963 250th Anniversary Coin. Somewhat scarce, with a catalog value of $6.50. This had a start of $15.00 with FREE shipping. It sold to a single bidder.

1/1/14

Hawaii, Honolulu. 1976 Honolulu Dollar. Variety with no CHAMBER OF COMMERCE on reverse. Catalog value $3.50. This could have been won for the minimum bid of $4.99 + $2.58 shipping, but there were no bids this week. Repeatedly relisted until it sold to a single bidder on February 5.

1/1/14

Kansas. 1961 Stevens County Centennial Coin. Scarce. In a lot with a circulated example of the redeemable 50¢ token from the same county. The pair sold for $5.20 plus $1.95 shipping. A bargain!

1/2/14

Nevada, Las Vegas. "1878" (1981) Las Vegas Dollar with showgirl reverse. Two-tone finish - Oxidized nickel silver finish with bright nickel silver "dollar". I catalog this variety for $5.00. The seller wanted a bit more for this one - $75.00 plus $3.00 shipping. There were no bids. Relisted until February 1 at $60.00 Buy It Now, then lowered to $45.00 BIN. That listing ends on March 3, so it may be dropping again.

1/2/14

Pennsylvania, Cambridge Springs. 1966 Centennial Dollar. One thousand pieces were struck, and I value it at $8.50 in the catalog. This was offered for a $6.99 start plus 99¢ shipping. I was the only bidder.

1/2/14

Wisconsin, Black River Falls. 1983 Centennial Dollar, nickel silver. Very scarce - reported mintage 250 pieces in this finish, although I think 350 were actually made. Catalog value $8.50. I was able to snatch up this bargain for the opening bid of $2.99 plus $1.99 shipping.

1/3/14

Michigan, Ludington. 1961 Perch Festival Half Dollar. Lot of 3 slightly circulated pieces. Offered for an $8.50 start plus $2.68 postage. No bids. These catalog for $3.50 each (in uncirculated condition) and had a mintage of 5,000 pieces.

1/4/14

Kansas, Cuba. 1968 Centennial Souvenir Coin. Catalog value $4.00. Offered for $7.99 plus $1.85 shipping. No bids. Unfortunately the seller was not able to use the town name in his title or description because Cuba is one of Ebay's forbidden words. He later was able to add the town name at the end of the description by putting two spaces between each letter, which was able to fool their computer program that scans for objectional words.

1/4/14

Kansas, El Dorado. 1971 Centennial Dollar. Neat item with Wizard of Oz characters. I catalog this oxidized bronze version for $5.00 or $7.50 depending on whether or not it has a numbered edge - which I could not determine from the photograph. Offered for $6.99 plus $3.00 postage fees. There were no bids.

1/4/14

Montana, Red Lodge. 1935 Rodeo Half Dollar. Catalog value $15.00. The opening bid was $25.00 and the postage charge was $2.25, but there were no bids. After two more weeks the seller lowered his price to $23.00, and that was enough to do it, as it sold for the opening bid.

1/4/14

Oregon, Astoria. 1961 Sesquicentennial Half Dollar. Mintage 20,000 - catalog value $3.00. This had a start of $3.99 with FREE shipping. No sale. Relisted until the 27th without a bid, and then the sale was ended by the seller.

1/4/14

Washington, Walla Walla. 1986 Whitman Centennial $1.50, numbered version, circulated. Offered for $3.99 with FREE shipping, but drew no bids. The seller relisted it at the same price until January 27, then ended the listing without a sale. These catalog for $5.00 in uncirculated condition.

1/5/14

Alabama, Bessemer. 1962 Diamond Jubilee Half Dollar. About uncirculated. Started off at $2.99 with FREE shipping, it drew 4 bids and sold for $7.38. There were 15,000 struck and I catalog it for $3.50.

1/5/14

Arizona, Lake Havasu City.  1974 London Bridge Dollar.  No longer available on the LHC Rotary Club website, but its price when last available was $107.00. This example was offered for $7.00 plus $3.00 shipping. There were two bids, but both by the same bidder, so it closed at the opening price of $7.00.

1/5/14

Hawaii. 1991 Princess Kaiulani Silver Princess Dala. Mintage 1,100. Offered for $42.99 plus $3.00 shipping, but 6 bids pushed the sale price up to $88.00.

1/5/14

Hawaii, Honolulu. 1990 Honolulu Dala in silver. Mintage 2,200. The seller offered his nice proof specimen for $34.95 plus $3.00 shipping. There were two bids, but they were from the same bidder, so it sold for the $34.95 opening.

1/5/14

Hawaii, Honolulu. 1992 Honolulu Dala in silver. Mintage 1,100. This one seemed to be just slightly circulated, but it might have been the photograph. Opening price was $44.75 plus $3.25 shipping. No bids.

1/5/14

Kentucky, Bourbon County. 1961 175th Anniversary Half Dollar. Offered at $6.00 with FREE shipping, this one drew no bids. Listed for two more weeks and then the listing was ended by the seller. The mintage on these was 5,000 and the catalog value is $4.00.

1/5/14

Nebraska, Lincoln. 1959 Centennial Half Dollar. Offered for $5.00 plus $3.00 shipping, but there were no bids. There were 50,000 made and they catalog for $3.00.

1/5/14

New York, Evans. 1971 Sesquicentennial Commemorative Coin. I catalog these for $10.00. The seller offered his for $7.00 plus $1.50 postage. No bids, no sale.

1/5/14

New York, Jamestown. 1960 Centennial Half Dollar. Mintage 5,000. Catalog value $4.00. Offered for $5.00 plus $3.00 shipping. There were no bids.

1/6/14

Hawaii, Maui. 1993 Maui Dollar. Reported mintage 100,000. Catalog value $2.50. This started at 99¢ plus $3.00 shipping, but sold for $3.25 after 3 bids.

1/6/14

Illinois, Will County (Joliet). 1961 125th Anniversary Half Dollar. Priced at a $5.00 start ($7.50 BIN) with FREE shipping.  This one did not sell this week, nor any week up until February 26 when the seller ended the listing without a sale. The mintage was 20,000 and I catalog it for $3.00.

1/6/14

Indiana, Jasper. 1966 Centennial Half Dollar. This one was described as being from Jasper, Wyoming - but it is definitely from Indiana. I catalog it for $3.50, but I don't know the mintage. Started at $3.99 plus $1.86 shipping. No bids.

1/6/14

Kentucky, Ashland. 1954 Centennial Half Dollar. Extremely Fine Condition. Catalog value $10.00. Offered for $9.99 plus $1.86 shipping. No bids.

1/6/14

Ohio, Bellbrook. 1966 Centennial Half Dollar. Unknown mintage, catalog value $5.00. The start was $3.99 and it received two bids, ending at $4.83.

1/7/14

Kansas, Arkansas City. 1961 Kansas Centennial Half Dollar. I don't know the mintage, but I catalog this somewhat scarce MTC at $6.00. Started at 99¢ plus $1.50 postage, it drew 5 bids and sold for $2.32 to some lucky bidder.

1/8/14

Pennsylvania, Hanover. 1963 Bicentennial Half Dollar. Unknown mintage - Catalog value $4.50. Offered for a start of just 99¢ plus $3.75 shipping. No bids this week, and by February 2nd - still with no interest - the seller gave up and ended the listing.

1/9/14

North Dakota. 1972 Souvenir Dollar. Central Dakota Coin Club issue. Mintage not known. Catalog value $5.00. The start was $7.49 and postage an additional $1.69. There were no bids. Still available at the same price as of March 6.

1/15/14

Hawaii, Maui. 1959 (60) Statehood Dollar. "OHAU" type, large dollar sign. The most common of the "OHAU" varieties. Mintage uncertain - there were at least 25,000 of the "OHAU's" made - and far more of these show up than the other two varieties combined. Catalog $3.00. Offered for a starting bid of $9.50 ($12.35 BIN) plus $1.50 by a seller that pointed out the spelling error. No bids this time, but I have seen these sell for much more to collectors who apparently thought the spelling error was rare.

1/15/14

Hawaii, Hilo. 1964 Merry Monarch Festival Dollar. Five thousand pieces were struck, and I catalog it for $4.00. Offered for $8.75 plus $1.50 shipping. There were no bids, and the token was not offered the following week...but I see the same seller is currently selling the same coin in his Ebay store for $9.50 plus $1.50 shipping. Right now it is on a special 5% off sale at $9.02 plus the postage.

1/15/14

Hawaii. Undated Aloha Dollar with numbering rectangle (and number) on obverse. Attributed as 2MD-707, which is incorrect (because that one does not have the number/inscription blank. I do not believe this variety is listed in Medcalf/Russell, but I can't be certain even if this is the 32mm version or the 39mm version. 2MD-709 and 710 have the blank but those are in bronze and silver plate, respectively. Perhaps it is an unlisted metal finish variety of this type, and if so, it would be struck in the smaller 32mm size. Anyway, I do not have any of the Aloha Dollars with a number blank, so I needed it. The starting price was 99¢ and 9 bids had sent the price up to a mere $5.00. Six seconds before it ended I bid more than 10 times that amount, $56.88, and was confident I had won it. Unfortunately, as I was doing that, someone else was bidding too. He bid $57.55 four seconds before I placed my bid, and I lost. Had I placed my bid a few seconds earlier, his bid would not be enough above my bid to win as there is a $1 increment at this price level - or if I had bid 64¢ more his bid would not have been high enough to win. Rats! The worst thing is that I tried to contact the seller to get information on the size and edge so I could at least catalog it properly, but I got no response. If there is a good aspect, it is that my idea of what it should be worth was very close to what the other collector thought it would bring. There were 9 bids up to $5.00...then mine at $56.88 and another at $57.55. Had this been listed when the last edition of the catalog came out, it probably would be priced at $15.00.

1/15/14

Illinois, Mount Prospect. 1967 Golden Anniversary Commemorative Coin. Offered, and sold, to a single bidder at the opening price of $4.99 plus $1.85 shipping. I do not know the mintage, but I catalog this item at $6.50.

1/15/14

Illinois, Normal. 1965 Centennial Dollar. Start was $4.99 with FREE shipping. Mintage 1,000 and cataloged at $6.00. No bids.

1/15/14

Indiana, Logansport. 1976 US Bicentennial, Cass County 150th Dollar set of 4 metals. Plastic cased set of oxidized brass, oxidized silver plate, gilt brass and fine silver. The last two had a limited mintage of 400 pieces each, the first two were the regular issues and are quite common. The set was started at 1¢ plus $6.00 shipping. There were 20 bids by 4 bidders and it sold for a very reasonable $23.00, less than $2.00 more than the metal value of the silver piece alone. A real give away! Catalog value $33.00, but that from a time when silver was selling for less than $10.00 an ounce and now it is more than $20.00.

1/15/14

Michigan, Holly. 1965 Centennial Half Dollar. Sold for the start of $1.99 plus $1.85 shipping. Catalog value $4.00, mintage unknown.

1/15/14

Minnesota, Glenwood. Undated Chamber of Commerce Quarter. Simple trade token type, aluminum, slightly corroded. This was new to me, but apparently redeemable by the Glenwood Chamber of Commerce, so it is listable. It started at 99¢, attracted 9 bids, and sold for $16.05 with FREE shipping. A nice addition to the catalog.

1/15/14

Missouri, North Kansas City. 1962 50th Anniversary Half Dollar. This one was started at $1.99 plus $1.85. There were two bids and it ended up at $3.50, which is exactly what I catalog this 5,000 mintage MTC at.

1/15/14

Oregon, Ashland. 1981 Ashland Shakespearean Festival Two Dollars. The mintage for unnumbered pieces, like this, is 5,000. I catalog them at $4.00. This one was put up for auction for $7.99 plus $1.85 shipping, and that is what the single bidder won it for.

1/15/14

Pennsylvania, Boyertown. 1966 Centennial Half Dollar. Start was $1.99 plus $1.85 shipping. Sold to a single bidder. Catalog $4.50.

1/15/14

West Virginia, Williamson. 1969 Diamond Jubilee Half Dollar. Start was $3.00 plus $2.50 shipping. There were no bids for this 5,000 mintage $4.00 catalog MTC.

1/15/14

Mixed lot of 4 MTC's slabbed by NGC, graded MS 64 and MS 66. Included were Canastota, New York; Dallastown, Pennsylvania; Waynesboro, Pennsylvania; Cabell County, West Virginia. The group of four started at $9.99 and sold (to me) for just $10.49. Shipping was a reasonable $3.50. Two bidders.

1/15/14

Another mixed lot of 4 modern tokens slabbed by NGC. This time only two were MTCs - Mendon, New York, and Schenectady County New York MS 64 and MS 65. The group of four started at $9.99 and sold (again to me) for just $11.62. Shipping was a reasonable $3.50, but I got a reduced rate for combining my two wins. Three bidders this time.

1/16/14

Hawaii, Maui. 1994 Maui Dollar struck in pure silver. Mintage reported as 3,000 pieces, catalog value just $20 - but that was when silver was just over $10 an ounce. These days the value of the silver alone is more than my old catalog price. It sold to a single bidder at the opening price of $41.99 plus $4.00 shipping.

1/16/14

Illinois, Chanute Air Force Base. 1977 60th Anniversary Dollar. Unknown mintage. Catalog value $5.00. The opening bid was $4.99 plus $1.93 postage. Four bids sent the closing price up to $7.24.

1/16/14

Kentucky (Louisville). 1985 Kentucky Derby Festival Beer Token. Struck in red anodized aluminum. Started at $2.99, this seldom-seen token sold to a single bidder (me) at that price. I think a lot of potential bidders were put off by the ridiculous $4.01 shipping fee.

1/17/14

Alaska, Anchorage. 1967 North Pole Enterprises $5.00, no number, circulated. I catalog these for $8.50, but in uncirculated condition. The start was $1.99 plus $1.93 shipping. There were two bids, from the same bidder, and it sold for the opening price.

1/17/14

Alaska, Anchorage. 1961 Shrine Circus Quarter. Offered for $6.95 plus $1.99 shipping, for a slightly circulated example. My catalog valuation, $5.00 in uncirculated. No bids, and the item was taken off Ebay after a one week try.

1/17/14

Kansas. 1954 Kansas Territorial Centennial Coin, blank inscription block. Offered for $6.49 plus 99¢ shipping. I catalog these for $3.00, and this one did not sell. Offered repeatedly for the next 5 weeks, still without success, until the seller decided to end the listing.

1/17/14

Kansas, Ottawa County (Minneapolis). 1966 Centennial Half Dollar. Mintage 2,500. Catalog value $3.00. Offered for $8.99 plus 99¢ shipping. No bids. It is still available as of March 17th - but last week the seller dropped his price to $8.95. When that didn't do the trick, this week he lowered it another dollar to $7.95. Unfortunately, when you look at the listing, there is a section called "More chances to get what you want" and right there are two additional examples of the same token priced lower than what this one starts at. Thanks a lot, Ebay.

1/17/14

Pennsylvania, Jonestown. 1961 Bicentennial Half Dollar. Mintage 7,500. Catalog $3.50. Put out there for bids starting at $9.99, with FREE shipping. No bids, but relisted in the following weeks for $9.00 and then $8.00. When there were no bids at this level, the seller ended his listing.

1/17/14

Wyoming, Cody. Undated Cody Stampede - Days of '49 Dime. Started at $6.00 plus $1 shipping. Sold for $7.53 after two bids. Catalog value $5.00.

1/18/14

Arizona, Globe / Miami. Undated Dollar. No one knows what this old token was used for. Probably for a bus or train ride between the two neighboring cities, but I pick them up for my wannabe collection on the off chance that it turns out that they were used for some sort of celebration. Well worn and offered for $35.00 plus $2.95 shipping. I was the only bidder.

1/18/14

Florida, Avon Park. 1964 75th Anniversary Half Dollar. Unknown mintage, but with a catalog price of $3.50. Sold to a single bidder at its $3.99 opening price.

1/18/14

Illinois, Schiller Park. 1964 Golden Jubilee Half Dollar. Mintage 5,000. Catalog value $4.00. Up for bids at $4.95 plus $4.50 shipping. No bids, so relisted repeatedly at the same price, and still available today, over 2 months later. A $6.95 Buy It Now was added somewhere along the line.

1/18/14

Florida, Pinellas Park. 1965 50th Anniversary Half Dollar. Mintage unknown, catalog value $3.00. Offered for $3.99 with FREE shipping. No bids, and listed an additional week - still without success.

1/18/14

Indiana, Elkhart. 1958 Centennial Half Dollar. Mintage 10,000 - Catalog value $5.00. Offered and sold at the opening price of $3.99 with FREE shipping to a single bidder.

1/18/14

Iowa, Kensett. 1972 Centennial Coin, oxidized bronze. Offered for $5.00 plus $2.00 shipping. No bids. Still available in the seller's store for the same price. Mintage 5,000. Catalog value $5.00.

1/18/14

Missouri, Palmyra. 1969 Sesquicentennial Coin Good In Trade. Catalog $6.50. Offered for $3.75 plus $3.50 shipping. No sale. This slightly circulated piece is now in the seller's store at the same price.

1/18/14

Oregon, Astoria. 1966 Bridge Dedication Half Dollar, struck in goldene. Offered for $4.95 plus a remarkable $4.50 shipping. In this finish I catalog it at $4.00. No sale, and still being offered today, two months later, at the same price - except there is now a $6.95 Buy It Now option.

1/18/14

Oregon, Myrtle Point. 1962 Centennial Half Dollar. This token is typically found circulated, and this one was uncirculated or very close. The start was $3.99 with FREE shipping. There were 5 bids and it sold for $17.38. Impressive - but rare in this condition. I catalog them for $6.50 in XF-AU. There were only 1,000 pieces struck. I was the underbidder, darn it!

1/18/14

South Dakota, Fort Yankton. Undated (1960's) Six Bits token. A novelty item, but this denomination is scarce enough to list for $5.00. The start was $1.50 plus $2.50 shipping. Sale price was $2.48 after 4 bids.

1/18/14

Tennessee, Chattanooga. 1965 Sesquicentennial Half Dollar.  Mintage 10,000. Catalog value $3.50. Put up for bid at $7.50 plus 95¢ shipping, this MTC had two bids - both from the same bidder - so it sold for the opening price.

1/18/14

Non-Local. 1976 U. S. Bicentennial One Bicent. A novelty Bicentennial penny that I catalog for $2.50. The start was just 99¢, but the postage was more than twice that - $2.00. Seems pretty steep to ship a tiny 13mm aluminum token. No bids. It was relisted each week and finally, 7 weeks down the line, I decided to bid and pay that $2.00 postage fee. That was the week someone else finally decided to bid too, but I won it anyway for $1.04 plus that nasty shipping fee. I have no idea why I bothered to bid on this - I think I already have a duplicate.

1/19/14

Arizona, Lake Havasu City. 1981/82 London Bridge dollar.  Mintage 25,000. Catalog value $3.50. $39.00 on the LHC Rotary Club website. Offered for $6.99 ($14.99 BIN) either way plus $2.09 shipping. Sold a couple weeks later (February 9) to a single bidder at the opening price.

1/19/14

Indiana, Portland - Jay County. 1966 State Sesquicentennial Half Dollar. Somewhat scarce, I catalog this at $6.50. The starting bid was $6.99 plus $2.99 shipping. One bidder took it for the opening price.

1/19/14

Kansas, Russell. 1971 Centennial Dollar. Unknown mintage - catalog value $6.00. This specimen was offered for $6.00 plus $1.99 shipping. Housed in a nice hard plastic holder. No bids, and the listing was ended.

1/19/14

Kentucky, Bourbon County. 1961 175th Anniversary Half Dollar. Mintage 5,000. Catalog $4.00. Offered for $7.99 plus $3.00 shipping. I think $11.00 is just too much for a common MTC these days. No sale. Offered at this price until February 26 when it was put into the seller's store for a price $3.00 higher. Currently available for $10.99 plus $3.00 shipping.

1/19/14

New York, Mendon. 1963 Sesquicentennial Half Dollar. Mintage reported as from 5,000 to 6,000. Catalog value $4.00. Offered for $5.00 plus $1.65 shipping. No bids and listing ended.

1/19/14

Ohio, Salem. 1956 Sesquicentennial Half Dollar, about uncirculated. This nice old municipal catalogs for $6.00, but this one at a $14.99 with FREE shipping start did not sell. Currently in the Seller's Store at the same price - but this time with an Or Best Offer option.

1/19/14

Pennsylvania, Milton. 1967 Sesquicentennial Half Dollar. The opening price was $2.78 plus $1.90. Mintage 5,000. Catalog $4.50. A single bidder won it for the opening price.

1/19/14

Pennsylvania, York. 1966 225th Anniversary Half Dollar. Scarcer variety without IN / TRADE to left and right of denomination. Mintage for this variety 7,500 - catalog value $3.00. The more common variety (with IN TRADE) had a mintage of 25,000 and catalogs for $2.50. Offered for $2.78 plus $1.90 shipping. No sale. Listed again the following week and the ended because of an "error in the listing".

1/20/14

California, Manteca. 1976 U.S. Bicentennial 76¢. Private issue by Manteca Collectors Exchange. Mintage 250. Catalog value $10.00. Start was $3.00 and two bids pushed the selling price up to $3.25 plus $2.50 shipping. I think this one was a real bargain!

1/20/14

Iowa, Emmetsburg. 1990 Irish Dollar. Unknown mintage, catalog value $3.00. Start was $4.99 plus a reasonable $1.00 shipping. No bids this week, but it sold two weeks later for the opening bid.

1/21/14

(Arizona), Globe. Undated Globe Elks Days of '49 10¢ Token. I am not sure when these were issued, but they are few and far between. Catalog value $17.50. This one was in the typical and acceptable slightly used condition. The start was $9.99 plus $2.00 shipping. After 2 bids it sold for $14.17.

1/21/14

Hawaii, Kona Coast. Undated Islands of Hawaii medal in goldene. I don't think I will be listing this, but it is interesting because of its similarity to the earlier Kona Coast Dollars. This has the beach, palm trees and volcano view of the Kona and Kona Coast dollars, combined with a modified image version of the Aloha Dollars of the same series, with the inscription changed to Islands Of Hawaii . No denomination. They look pretty recent, and I'll bet there are other locations of this series that are out there waiting to be found. The starting bid was $3.00 plus $2.00 shipping. I placed the second bid and won this for $4.25.

1/21/14

Kentucky (Louisville). 1984 Kentucky Derby Festival Beer Token. This one in uncolored aluminum. Starting bid was $8.69 with FREE shipping. No sale. Relisted for an additional week at the same price but the listing was ended with no sale again. It reappeared on March 23, with the starting price lowered to $7.29 - but now with a 69¢ postage fee and a $12.99 Buy It Now option.

1/22/14

Arizona, Prescott. 1978 Frontier Buck. Start was $3.99 plus 95¢ shipping. Two bids raised the selling price of this token which I catalog for $5.00 to $4.24.

1/22/14

Colorado, Durango. 1980/81 Narrow Gauge Train Dollar. Mintage 20,000. Catalog value $4.00. The start was to be $2.99, but there were no bids. I think the problem was with the postage...an additional $4.12.

1/22/14

Michigan, Fenton. 1959 125th Anniversary Half Dollar. Catalog value $5.00. Starting Bid was $2.99 plus $1.85 shipping but there were no bids.

1/22/14

Michigan, Pontiac. 1961 Centennial Half Dollar. Starting Bid was $3.99 plus $1.85 shipping. No bids. Mintage was a hefty 25,000. Catalog value a wimpy $2.50.

1/22/14

Mississippi, Booneville. 1961 Centennial Half Dollar. Offered for $3.99 plus $1.85 shipping. A single bidder won this for the opening bid price. A bargain! Mintage 2,500 - catalog value $6.50.

1/22/14

New York, Albany County. 1959 Hudson-Champlain Celebration Half Dollar. Mintage 25,000. Catalog value $3.50. The seller wanted to start this at $7.99 plus $3.00 shipping, but received no bids. Relisted for 5 more weeks at the same price, still with no interest, so he decided the way to sell it was to place it in his store for $10.99 plus $3.00 shipping. Guess what - it is still available!

1/22/14

New York, Ticonderoga. 1964 Bicentennial Half Dollar. Uncertain mintage, but this one shows up every now and then. I catalog it for $4.50. Starting Bid was $2.99 but no one bid. Shipping would have been another $1.85.

1/22/14

North Dakota, Enderlin. 1966 Diamond Jubilee Half Dollar. Unknown mintage. Catalog value $3.50. Offered for $1.99 plus $1.85 shipping. No bids.

1/23/14

North Dakota, Jamestown. 1972 Fort Seward Centennial Half Dollar. There was only one bidder, so this one ended at the starting price of 99¢ plus another 95¢ for shipping. I catalog the Jamestown token for $5.00, so this seemed like a nice bargain to me.

No luck at that level either, so the seller ended the listing.

1/27/14

Pennsylvania, Beaver Falls. 1944 Diamond Jubilee Cork Nickels, set of black and red varieties. Scarce, and one of the few wooden pieces I list. Catalog $7.50 each. This offering was for the set of two old issues plus four standard wooden nickels from the 1968 Centennial. I don't know why there is a one year discrepancy between the Diamond Jubilee and Centennial celebrations. The start was $9.99 plus $2.68 shipping. There were 3 bids and the lot sold for $17.50.

1/27/14

Pennsylvania, Elwood City. 1967 75th Anniversary Half Dollar. Unknown mintage, catalog value $5.00. 1/28/14

Iowa, Emmetsburg. 1968 Irish Dollar. The third issue in this series that continues today. My catalog value is $6.00, but this one which was priced at a start of $9.99 plus $1.00 shipping failed to attract any bids. Relisted for three weeks on ebay, then placed in the sellers store where is is still available at the same price.

1/28/14

Iowa, Emmetsburg. 1987 Irish Dollar. This is issue #22 in this series, and I catalog it at $3.00. Started at $4.99 plus $1.00 shipping. No bids. Relisted at the same price until March 19th, when the seller ended the listing without a sale.

Hawaii. 1985 Kalakaua Akahi Dala. Attributed by the seller as 2M-240, which it was not. Instead it was an unlisted variety with Christmas 1984 on the edge. Too bad - although this was a nice low mintage piece (supposedly 275 struck) I already had this variety, so it is just a duplicate for me. Start was $9.99 plus $1.99 postage. My cost was $40.99 after 11 bids.

1/30/14

Iowa. Grand Junction. 1969 Centennial Half Dollar. Montage 2,500. Catalog value $6.00. Offered for 99¢ plus $3.00 shipping. No bids. Listed again at the same price for two additional weeks. The seller ended the listing because there were no bids.
