Crab Festival Quarter.  Start $8.25 plus 55¢ shipping.  I won it as the second bidder for $8.75.  I had not seen this one before, and I am not yet sure if it is listable because the letters O.L.G. indicate that it was issued by Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church.  Now I have to find out if it is a private or a community-wide celebration…….A quick internet search suggests it is a community-wide event.  This year will be the 37th annual event, and it will be held from July 1 to July 3 - the same time I am typing this up!  I will call the Chamber of Commerce to get their take on it……..

A week after that it sold to a single bidder.  Another of these was offered by another seller a couple days after that (closing May 6).  This second example was in choice  BU condition (as usual), had a $1.00 plus $4.45 start, attracted 14 bids from 6 bidders, and sold for $25.00.  On May 9 another example in choice Uncirculated condition closed.  The start was $19.99 plus $3.20 postage.  It sold to a single bidder.

5/23/21

5/24/21

Pennsylvania, Exeter Township (Reading).  1967 236th Anniversary Half Dollar.  Sold to a single bidder for the $5.00 plus $1.50 starting bid.

5/24/21

Texas, Dalhart / XIT Country. Undated Texas Dollar. Unknown mintage, Catalog value $5.00.  The first I’ve noticed on Ebay since starting these listings in 2012.  Sold along with a non-MTC 1966 Texas Longhorn Centennial Trail Drive antiqued brass medal. The start was $5.99 plus $4.25 shipping, and there was only one bid on the final day of the sale, so I bid $12.88 but was topped by the original bidder who won it for the next increment, $13.38.  I was not aware how infrequently these show up, so I will be raising the catalog value to, probably, $7.50 the next time around.

5/25/21

5/26/21

Montana, Billings.  1968 Midland Empire State Fair and Rodeo 50th Anniversary Dollar.  Bonded Silverclad.  The seller noted the hairlines in the fields, but did not mention the hazy discoloration near the edges.  With - but no longer in - the Franklin Mint cardboard easel holder.  No one bid at the $3.99 plus $3.50 start, so the seller ended his listing after a single week.

5/26/21

Pennsylvania, Hummelstown.  1962 Bicentennial Half Dollar.  About Uncirculated, with some significant spots.  Sold to a single bidder (who placed a second, unnecessary, bid) for the $9.99 with FREE shipping start.

5/26/21

5/27/21

Illinois, Downers Grove.  1968 135th Anniversary Half Dollar.  Graded MS-64 and encapsulated by NGC.  An unattractive dingy looking coin with wear on the obverse figures - I’d call it About Uncirculated.  Start $20.00 plus $2.99 shipping.  It took a while, but it finally sold to a single bidder on July 28.

5/27/21

Illinois, Shawneetown.  1960 Sesquicentennial Half Dollar.  Graded MS-64 and encapsulated by NGC.  I’d say this one was accurately graded.  Start $25.00 plus $2.99 shipping.  Finally sold to a single bidder for the $25.00 plus $2.99 start on July 18.

5/27/21
