MTCs on Ebay June 2021

6/1/21

Kansas.  1961 Official Centennial Coin for Allen County, well-worn Fine to Very Fine condition.  Start $4.99 plus $3.50 shipping. Nobody bid so the seller made it a Buy It Now item at the same price.  It sold on June19.

6/1/21

New York, New York City.  1909 Hudson Fulton Exposition Daalder, full-size aluminum version, graded MS-64 by NGC.  Looks uncirculated to me!  Start $20.00 plus $3.00 shipping, but it sold for $281.00 after 20 bids by 10 bidders.  On the 6th of the month another one closed - it was an unslabbed About Uncirculated example and had a $12.99 plus $4.45 start.  After 9 bids by 5 bidders it sold for $47.94.

6/1/21

New York, New York City.   (1964) New York World’s Fair John and Jacqueline Kennedy Half Dollar - Extremely Fine , scrubbed, polished and tarnished.  Sold to a single bidder for the $6.95 plus $2.00 starting bid.

6/2/21

California, Palm Springs.  1975 Palm Springs Dollar struck in Silver, numbered 42 on the edge.  About Uncirculated.  I had been watching this item for a year or so now, hoping for a price reduction.  I don’t know what came over me, but I finally paid the $75.00 plus $12.00 Buy It Now price.  It is just my first duplicate of this piece, so it is at least a scarce issue, but I only catalog it for $25.00.  I suspect that the mintage is 100 pieces, since the one I already had in my collection was number 64 - and if more than than 100 were made, I suspect I’d have found more of them by now! It was just driving me crazy for this scarce token from a town just 20 miles away from me to be on Ebay, taunting me every single week!

6/3/21

Colorado.  Undated Rocky Mountain Coin $5.00.  The same type I noted in December 2018, but this one numbered 008.  The start was $9.99 with FREE shipping, but after 7 bids by 5 bidders it sold for $38.98.  Wow!  I do not think I will be listing this one because I suspect it was issued by a coin shop called Rocky Mountain Coin, and was not a generally circulating “Rocky Mountain Coin”.  This one may have brought such a high price because it was touted as a “Colorado So-Called Dollar”.

6/3/21

Colorado, Fort Morgan.  1959 75th Anniversary Half Dollar.  Promoted as a “rare variant” of HK-544.  I’d say that HK-544 is a scarce variant of this much more common Municipal Token!  Start $5.99 with FREE shipping.  There were 6 bids placed by 5 bidders and it sold for $34.14.

6/3/21

Colorado, Victor.  “1900” Lesher House Restoration $1.25.  This one numbered 831.  Start $9.99 with FREE shipping.  After 16 bids by 11 bidders it sold for $71.00.

6/3/21

Illinois, Brookfield.  1968 Diamond Jubilee Half Dollar - lot of two examples, both About Uncirculated.  Sold to a single bidder for the $1.00 plus another dollar for postage start.

6/3/21

Minnesota, Benson.  1970 Souvenir Dollar, Extremely Fine/About Uncirculated.  Start $9.95 plus $4.00 shipping.  No bids, so it was made a Buy It Now item at the same price.  Still available two months later.  A scarce coin, but this used one was not a very attractive example.

6/3/21

Nebraska, Nuckolls County.  1971 Centennial Dollar.  Antiqued silver, numbered 78 on the edge.  The start was $39.99 plus $5.00 shipping.  There were 3 bids by 3 bidders and it sold for $66.65.

6/4/21

Arizona, Camp Verde.  1975 Fort Verde Day Dollar.  Start $13.75 ($18.00 BIN) plus $2.00 shipping.  There were no bids so it was made a Buy It Now item for $18.00 until July 25 when the seller finally gave up and ended his listing unsold.

6/4/21

6/4/21

Hawaii.  1983 King Kalakaua Dala “Test Strike”.  Encapsulated and graded PF-66 by ANACS.  Start $59.99 plus $3.95 shipping.  Listed as an auntion item at the same price until July 30, when the seller ended his listing unsold.

Nebraska, Oakland.  1963 Centennial Half Dollar.  Start $4.99 plus $1.90 shipping.  After 4 bids by 4 different bidders it sold for $6.52.

6/4/21

Texas, Wilson County / Kansas Statehood Mule.  1960/1961 Half Dollar.  A rare one!  I was the only bidder at the $4.00 plus $1.00 start.  Cool!

6/4/21

Virginia, Norton.  1969 75th Anniversary Half Dollar.  A few moderate carbon spots on the reverse.  I was the only bidder at the $8.95 plus $4.95 starting price.  Perhaps a bit too much to pay, but these don’t show up very often, and if you want them you’ve got to jump on them when they do!

6/5/21

Montana, Fort Benton.  1971 125th Anniversary Dollar.  Start $5.00 with FREE shipping.  No bids.  Not relisted.

6/5/21

Ohio, Newark.  1952 Sesquicentennial Half Dollar.  Uncirculated, but toned on the obverse.  Start $2.95 plus $1.00 shipping.  Nobody bid, so the seller made it  a Buy It Now item for $6.95 plus $1.00, and it sold on July 11.   On the 7th another one closed - it was fully uncirculated and had a $1.99 plus $4.90 start.  There were no bids, so the seller made it a Buy It Now item for $18.99!  It remains available, currently on a 10% off sale, two months later.

6/6/21

Alabama, Montgomery.  1961 Civil War Centennial Half Dollar.  Start $1.99 plus $3.70 shipping.  There were no bids until the last few hours of the sale when someone bid $6.00 only to be topped a short time later by another bidder at $6.50.

6/6/21

Illinois, Evergreen Park.  1968 75th Anniversary Half Dollar.  Encapsulated and graded MS-66 by NGC.  Sold to a single bidder for the $20.00 plus $2.99 start.  Whoever bought it now has the exact same specimen for sale for $44.99 with FREE shipping.  Ebay offered that in their display of “Sponsored Items”, along with a couple others not encapsulated, but available for $16.00 plus $2.00, and $12.95 plus $3.00.  A search in Ebay for Evergreen Park 1968 brought up 16 other unencapsulated examples, All BIN items, priced from $4.45 to $16.00.  Must be a rare one.  Hah!

6/6/21

Illinois, Shawneetown.  1960 Sesquicentennial Half Dollar.  Encapsulated and graded MS-64 by NGC.  Start $25.00 plus $2.99.  It sold on July 18 to a single bidder, the same person who bought the Evergreen Park token above, and he also put this one up for sale for $39.99 Buy It Now.

6/7/21

California, Auburn.  1966 Gold Rush Days Souvenir Coin.  About Uncirculated. Start 69¢ plus 69¢ shipping.  After 7 bids by 2 bidders it sold for $3.80.

6/7/21

North Dakota, Crosby.  1999 Diamond Jubilee Dollar in golden brass.  Part of a lot of 4 pieces that also included the 1961 Bismark N.D. Half Dollar, the 1960/61 South Dakota Territorial Centennial Half Dollar, and a good luck token from the "1880 Town" in South Dakota.  Start was $9.95 plus $4.25 shipping, but there were no bids, and it was listed until June 29 when the seller ended the sale because “the item is no longer available”.  I wish I had paid more attention because this was the scarcer golden brass version that catalogs for $10.00, and has not appeared previously in these listings.

6/7/21

Oregon, Grants Pass.  1959 Oregon Centennial Half Dollar, variesty with Expiry date removed.  Extremely Fine.  Start 69¢ plus 69¢ for postage.  After 4 bids by 2 bidders it sold for $3.34.  No mention was made that this was the date removed - in fact it was simply described “World Token Oregon 1859-1959”.

6/8/21

Illinois, Mount Prospect.  1967 Golden Anniversary Commemorative Coin.  Start $1.00 plus $3.00 shipping.  It sold to a second bidder for $1.25.

New York, Schnectady County.  1959 150th Anniversary Half Dollar.  Start $2.00 plus $3.00 for postage.  Nobody was bidding so for the listing ending July 20, the seller raised the start to $5.00, but made the postage FREE.  It remains available at that start, with the current listing ending August 19.

6/13/21

Arizona, Prescott.  Undated Slippery Gulch 5¢ token, this one numbered 120, a machine number I did not have.  Start $4.99 plus $3.00 shipping.  I won it for $7.00 after 4 bids by 4 bidders.  The seller cited Newhall, California or Cokedale, Colorado as issuing locations - because tokencatalog.com notes those locations.  I use Prescott, Arizona because they have been listed as being from there in the Arizona token catalogs by Birt, and later by Spooner, for decades.

6/13/21

Minnesota.  1958 Minnesota Centennial Uniface Brass HK-517.  Extremely Fine, file marks and solder on the reverse - probely removed from a bolo tie.  Start 99¢ plus $3.95.  After 5 bids by 4 bidders it sold for $14.50.

6/15/21

Montana.  1964 Montana Territory Centennial $50 “Gold Slug”.  Un-numbered, and far nicer than the usual slightly circulated “MS-65” slabbed examples I have mentioned here many times.  This one had a $10.00 plus $8.50 start but received no bids the first week.  Re-offered at the same price, it did sell to a single bidder the following week.

6/17/21

Kansas, Rockport - Aransas County.  1970 Centennial Dollar.  I was the only bidder for the $2.99 with FREE shipping start.  One of the more attractive MTC’s, I think.

6/18/21

Hawaii, Pearl Harbor.  1991 50th Anniversary of the Day of Infamy.  Set of 3 Dalas by the Royal Hawaiian Mint.  The silver and bronze ones with the corrected perspective on the attack scene, the small 1/10 ounce gold one featuring a different obverse with a Liberty head.  All Proofs, and in the original case of issue.  Buy It Now $299.00 plus $8.45 shipping.  Available for over two months now.

6/19/21

Colorado, Sterling.  1959 Diamond Jubilee Half Dollar.  About Uncirculated.  Start $4.89 plus $3.89 shipping.  Someone must have really wanted it because he placed 3 bids, but since no one else bid, only the first was needed to win the item.

6/19/21

Iowa, Goldfield.  1955 Centennial Quarter, About Uncirculated.  Startv $7.98 plus $1.78 shipping.  I won it for $8.48 as just the second bidder.  A pretty good deal - this is the first of these I’ve spotted on Ebay since January 2013….However just 4 days later another appeared - this one in Extremely Fine condition with a $9.99 plus $5.00 start.  Nobody bid and the seller decided not to relist it.

6/19/21

Washington, Hoquiam.  1939 50th Anniversary Paul Bunyan’s Twp-Bits Quarter.  A bit faded, and with a couple little chips missing from the edge. Large 3 inch wooden quarter printed on plywood. Alaska, Kodiak.  1965 Plywood Palace Days private issue One Snort brass “Rain Check”.  About Uncirculated.  Start 99¢ with FREE shipping.  It sold for $4.75 after 6 bids by 5 bidders.  A decent buy for someone!

6/20/21

Florida, Dunedin.  Pair of undated Island Fest Dollars.  Spotty Uncirculated.  I was the only bidder for the $1.00 plus $4.45 start. These are new to me - for the time being I will plan on listing them…however if this turns out to be a just a music event of some sort which required payment to attend, I will probably not do so.  A quick google search did not give me any information about this festival, but apparently Dunedin has a lot of such events!

6/20/21

Mississippi, Laurel.  1957 Diamond Jubilee 5¢ Masonite Money.  Decomposing from moisture damage around the rim, and with the gold printing beginning to flake off.  Start $10.00 plus $4.00 shipping.  It took two more weeks, but this scarce item sold on July 4 for the opening bid.

6/21/21
