MTCs on Ebay July 2021

7/1/21

Hawaii, Maui.  Three Maui Dollars - 1973 antique silver numbered 166 on the number block, a 1975 in antiqued brass numbered 23 on the block, and a later undated one in golden brass, puffy clouds version.  The 3 tokens had a $9.99 plus $3.90 shipping start, and sold for $93.55 after 11 bids by 9 bidders.

7/1/21

Michigan, Williamston.  1971 Centennial Half Dollar.  It sold to a single bidder who placed a second, unnecessary, bid for the $10.75 plus $2.00 start.  A seemingly high price for a token I catalog for just $4.00, but this is just its second appearance in the 9 years I have been doing these lists - and there are no others on Ebay right now in any category, even as BIN items, so maybe it is scarcer than I thought it was!

7/2/21

New York, New York City.  Henry Hudson Daalder/Sommer Island Shilling Mule in golden brass.  Sold to a single bidder for the $19.99 plus $3.55 starting bid.

7/5/21

Colorado, Durango.  1979 (80) Rotary Club 50th Anniversary Dollar.  Start $20.00 plus $3.50.  No bids, and it came back for $15.00 plus $3.50 the next week.  It remained at that price until the 21st, when the listing was ended “because the item is no longer available”.

7/6/21

Colorado, Lamar.  1986 Centennial Dollar.  A choice uncirculated example that had a $12.00 plus $8.50 (!) start.

7/6/21

Oregon, Baker.  1959 State Centennial Half Dollar, no DAM variety.  About Uncirculated.  Start $3.50 plus $3.50 more for shipping.  The current listing ends on September 3 and it remains bidless after 8 weeks.

7/7/21

Kansas.  1960 Official Centennial Coin for Johnson County.  Start $9.99 with FREE shipping.  There were no bids, so it was made a BIN item at the same price.  It remained on Ebay until August 12 when the listing was ended “because the item is no longer available”.

7/8/21

Iowa, Pella.  1984 Dutch Dollar.  About Uncirculated.  Start 99¢ plus $2.00 shipping.  After 5 bids by 4 bidders it sold for $2.50.

7/8/21

Maine, Whitefield.  1959 150th Anniversary Half Dollar.  About Uncirculated with some spotting on the reverse.  Start 99¢ plus $4.00 shipping.  This little treasure received just two bids and I won it for $4.25.  Too cheap!

7/8/21

Pennsylvania, Beaver Falls.  1968 Centennial Half Dollar REDEEMABLE variety. Choice Uncirculated.  Sold to a single bidder for the 99¢ plus $3.50 start.

7/9/21

Alaska, Fairbanks.  1959 Statehood Dollar.  Start 1¢ plus $2.99 shipping.  After 17 bids by 3 bidders it sold for $3.25.

7/9/21

Hawaii, Maui.  1959 Statehood Dollar.  Spelling error version - which was not mentioned by the seller.  Start 1¢ plus $2.99 shipping.  After 17 bids by 5 bidders it sold for $7.50.

7/9/21

Iowa, State Center.  1972 Rhythm’n Roses Tournament 100 Scents.  Start $4.95 plus $4.00  shipping.  No bids.  Not relisted.

7/10/21

Alaska, Fairbanks.  1959 Statehood  Dollar.  Slabbed and graded MS-63 by ANACS. A choice coin, unfortunately with some spots on the obverse, which probably accounted for its relatively low grade.  The start was $10.00 plus $4.45 shipping.  No bids at first, but after a month, for the listing ending August 8, it was spotted by a couple bidders who placed a total of four bids and it sold for $12.50

7/10/21

Pennsylvania, Forest Hills.  1969 Golden Jubilee Half Dollar.  Very choice Uncirculated.  Start 99¢ plus $1.50 shipping.  It attracted 5 bids from 4 bidders and sold for $3.76.

7/11/21

North Dakota.  1964 North Dakota Diamond Jubilee Half Dollar.  Antiqued Nickel-Silver.  Start 99¢ with FREE shipping.  After 5 bids by 3 bidders it sold for $3.77.

7/12/21

Hawaii.  1991 Pearl Harbor Dala.  Correct perspective Golden Brass Dala.  Start $20.00 or BIN $40.00 - either way with a very high $8.45 shipping fee.  The next week it came back as only a BIN item at that high $40.00 plus $8.45  shipping price, and it remains available at that cost a full two months later.

7/12/21

Kansas, Russell.  1961 Kansas Centennial / Russell 90th Anniversary Prairiesta Half Dollar.  About Uncirculated.  Start 99¢ with FREE shipping.  It took a couple more weeks, but on July 23 it sold to a single bidder for the original opening bid.

7/12/21

Maryland, Washington and Frederick County.  1962 Hagerstown 200th Anniversary/ South Mountain Centennial Half Dollar.  About Uncirculated.  Sold for the opening bid of $7.95 with FREE shipping to a bidder who placed a second unnecessary bid.

7/13/21

Colorado, Breckenridge.  1971 Kingdom of Breckenridge ULLR Fest 2 1/2 Kroner.  About Uncirculated.  Unknown Mintage.  Not previously cataloged.  Start $5.00 plus just 75¢ shipping.  I won it cheap as just the second bidder for $8.00.

7/13/21

New York, Delmar.  1961 50 Years of Volunteer Fire Service Half Dollar.  About Uncirculated with a bit of corrosion on the reverse.  Start $13.00.  Postage $3.49 additional.  It seemed really high to me, but on August 10 it sold to a single bidder for the opening bid.

7/14/21

Ohio, Middlefield.  1999 Bicentennial Dollar.  Unknown mintage.  Not previously cataloged.  I was the only person to bid on this piece at its $1.99 with FREE shipping start.  Quite scarce, but currently unappreciated.

7/15/21

Arizona, Prescott. Undated Slippery Gulch counterstamp on a Good For 5¢ / “M” brass token.  I regard this as a Prescott, Arizona token because it is listed under Prescott in Peter Spooner’s Arizona Token Catalog.  The seller noted it was from Cokedale, Colorado and noted a Pritchard catalog number - CO450-5b -which was a 1909 token from the Carbon Club with only one reported with the counterstamp.  I am still sticking with the Prescott attribution especially since the new 2021 edition of Peter Spooner’s Arizona Token that debuted just a week ago still assigns it to Prescott (PRE-788) and assigns it a R-3 rarely rating which means 91 to 125 examples known.  This one was offered for a $8.00 plus 75¢ start - but there were no bids and it was not relisted.  I think Spooner’s estimate of known specimens is too high.

7/15/21

California.  Undated (Copyright 1974) California Dollar.  Start $10.00 plus $3.49 shipping.  There were 3 bids placed by 2 bidders and it sold for a very high $12.50.

7/15/21

Iowa, Emmetsburg.  1973 Irish Dollar.  Start $5.00 plus $4.45 more to ship it.  Listed at the same price until September 2, when the seller ended his listing unsold.

7/15/21

Missouri, Palmyra.  1969 Sesquicentennial Usually With a Good In Trade reverse, but this with a reverse that is blank except for an incuse 150 near the bottom.  Edge marked .999 Silver and numbered 82.  A new variety, priced at $70.00 plus a very high $6.00 shipping.  The price seemed pretty steep to me, but I had not seen this one before…and it was my BIRTHDAY…so I bid and won it at the opening price!

7/15/21

North Dakota.  1989 Dakota Territorial Dollar in the standard Antiqued brass finish.  Start $12.25 ($16.00 BIN) plus $2.00 shipping.  This one exactly like the South Dakota 1989 Dakota Territorial Dollar but with a portrait of the N.D. Governor John Miller instead of the concurrent South Dakota Governor.  Still available two months later at the $16.00 plus $2.00 Buy It Now price.

7/16/21

Alaska, Sitka.  1963 Alaska’s Historical Capital Dollar in Sterling Silver.  The seller said it was struck in Sterling Silver, but he did not describe the edge - and from the image you could really not be sure if it was the standard Nickel Silver version or the Sterling issue.  Anyway the start was $20.00 plus $3.49.  The second bidder won it for $20.50 - not bad for the real silver variety, but way too much for the nickel silver.

7/16/21

California, Fort Bragg.  1963 Paul Bunyan Days Dollar.  About Uncirculated.  Start 99¢ plus $4.00 shipping.  There were 2 bids by 2 bidders and it sold for $1.25.

7/16/21

California, Fort Bragg.  1964 Paul Bunyan Days Dollar.  Start 99¢ plus $4.00 shipping.  There were 4 bids by 3 bidders and it sold for $4.05.

7/16/21

California, Fort Bragg.  1967 Paul Bunyan Days Dollar.  Start 99¢ plus $4.00 shipping.  There were 3 bids by 3 different bidders and it sold for $4.25.  The same seller offered another example on the same day for the same terms, and it brought $4.25 as well.

7/16/21

Kansas, Brookville.  1970 Centennial Half Dollar.  Nice obverse, but spotted, scratched and cleaned on the reverse.  Start 99¢ with FREE shipping.  After 3 bids by 3 bidders it sold for $1.51.

7/16/21

North Dakota, Rugby.   1961 75th Anniversary Half Dollar.  About Uncirculated.  Start $5.00 plus $2.00 postage.  Listed over and over at this price until August 25 when the seller decided to end his listing unsold.

7/17/21

California, San Buenaventura.  1966 Centennial Half Dollar.  Graded MS-65 and encapsulated by NGC,  Start $59.88 with FREE shipping.  Still available two months later on a special 7% off sale, making the token available as a BIN item for $55.32.

7/18/21

California, San Jose.  1961-1965 Civil War Centennial Private issue “In Trade” token.  Extremely Fine.  Start $10.00 plus $3.50.  There were no bids and it was not relisted.

7/18/21

Hawaii.  “1883” Brass replica Akahi Dala.  Long denticles version.  Start $2.25 plus $1.50.  After 4 bids by a pair of bidders the token sold for $6.05.  The following day another example closed - this in it original flip folder of issue for $3.56 after a 75¢ plus $6.70 shipping charge start and 5 bids by 5 bidders.

7/18/21

Hawaii, Hilo.  1974 Hilo Dollar.  Variety with date on the reverse, to right of HILO. Start $2.25 plus $1.50 shipping.  After 2 bids by 2 bidders it sold for $3.75.

7/18/21

7/18/21

Hawaii, Maui.  1973 Maui Dollar.   Antiqued Brass version with high, rounded clouds - the most common version.  Start $2.25 plus $1.50 postage.  After 3 bids by 2 bidders it sold for $6.05.

7/18/21

Hawaii, Maui.  1995 Maui Dollar.  Start $2.25 plus $1.50 shipping.  After 6 bids by 2 bidders it sold for $5.60.

7/18/21

Hawaii, Maui.  2003 Maui Dollar.  About Uncirculated.  Start $2.25 plus $1.50 shipping.  After 3 bids by 2 bidders it sold for $5.15.

7/18/21

Hawaii, Maui.  2007 Maui Dollar.  Start $2.25 plus $1.50 shipping.  After 3 bids by 2 bidders it sold for $4.31.

7/18/21

Illinois, Seneca.  1965 Port District Centennial Half Dollar.  Start $6.88 plus $3.30 postage.  For the period ending August 15, the start fell to $5.99, but the postage rose slightly to $3.40.  With no bids by September 8, the seller decided to end his listing unsold.

7/18/21

Iowa, Pella.  1982, 1983, 1984 and 1985 Dutch Dollars. One for each of the 4 consecutive years.  Start $25.00 with FREE shipping.  The following week they came back for a lower price - Start $24.99, still with FREE shipping.  August 6 saw them offered at a $22.99 start, and when no one immediately bid at that price, the lot was ended by the seller “because the item is no longer available”. *** But wait!  I bumped into these same tolens offered by the sam seller today, November 26, and they are now available for $15.00 with FREE shipping - the lot ends tomorrow.  So far no bids, but I will note the result tomorrow.......

7/18/21

Iowa, Pella.  2014, 2015 and 2016 Dutch Dollars. One for each year.  Start $14.99 with FREE shipping.  Great low-mintage years with mintage of 600 for 2014,  650 for 2015 and a similar number for 2016 that I can’t seem to find right now.  The start was a very reasonable $14.99 for the three pieces, which was lower than the issue price, so I bid and won them as the only bidder.  Whattadeal!

7/19/21

Arizona, Lake Havasu City.  1979 London Bridge Rotary Club Havasu Dollar.  Start $9.99 with FREE shipping.  Sold to a single bidder who placed a second, unnecessary bid and won it for the starting bid.

7/19/21

South Dakota, Fort Yankton.  Undated Four Bits.  Start $3.00 plus $3.50 shipping.  No bids, not relisted.

7/19/21

Ohio, Mason.  1965 Sesquicentennial Half Dollar.  Start $9.00 with FREE shipping.  No bids, and after a second week with no bids, the seller ended his listing unsold.

7/20/21

Kansas, Lawrence.  1954 Centennial Half Dollar.  Uncirculated.  Described simply as “WORLD TOKEN 50 CENTS BRASS” and with a 69¢ plus 69¢ start.  Three bidders placed 8 bids and it sold for $4.19.

7/20/21

New York, Schenectady County.  1959 150th Anniversary Half Dollar.  Start $5.00 with FREE shipping.  Nobody bid and the listing was ended by the seller on September 13.

7/20/21

Oregon, Pendelton.  1983 Pendelton Round-Up Let ‘er Buck Bar Chip.  Red.  Not previously mentioned in these listings.  Unknown mintage.  Offered for a while for $12.00, but when it went on sale for 15% off ($10.20), still plus the $4.00 postage charge, someone bid and won it for that price.

7/21/21

Alaska, Indian.  1967 Alaska Purchase Centennial Private Issue Good For One Drink Token from Jim’s Saloon.  Numbered 1552.  Start $5.95 with FREE shipping.  No bids the first week, but it did receive a single bid and sell for the opening price the following week.

7/21/21

Maryland, Frederick.  1964-1965 150th Anniversary of the National Anthem Half Dollar - long rays version.  Sold to a single bidder at the 99¢ plus $4.25 starting price.  A similar example sold on July 30 for its $3.99 plus $1.00 starting bid.

7/21/21

Oregon, Baker County.  1959 Oregon Centennial Half Dollar - no smoke, no dam.  The start was $3.50, plus that amount again for postage.  Listed unsuccessfully until September 3 when the seller ended the listing because “the item is no longer available”.

7/22/21

Ohio, Seville.  1966 Sesquicentennial Half Dollar.  About Uncirculated.  Unknown mintage, Catalog Value $8.50.  Start $50.00 plus $7.95 shipping.  The first of these that I have had a chance to report on since starting these lists.  A scarce token, but apparently not worth $50.00 yet because it was listed for 4 weeks more, then lowered to a $25.00 start.  That lasted 4 more weeks until it was lowered to $22.50, with a Best Offer Option.  It is worth $20.00 to me as a duplicate, so I’ll make that offer……Within an hour, the seller accepted my offer.  It cost me the $20.00 plus tax and postage as well, but since this is the first I’ve spotted on Ebay in nearly 10 years, its gotta be fairly scarce.

7/22/21

South Dakota, Sioux Falls.  1960 (61) Dakota Territory Centennial Half Dollar - Cooperating /circles version.  About Uncirculated (the seller said it was Very Fine).  Start 99¢ plus 56¢ shipping.  After 3 bids by 3 different bidders it sold for $2.25.

7/23/21

Iowa, Pella.  2010 Dutch Dollar.  About Uncirculated.  Mintage 1,000.  Not previously cataloged.   Start 99¢ plus $3.00 shipping.  After 5 weeks with no bids, the seller ended the listing unsold.

7/24/21

Florida, St. Petersburg.  U.S. Bicentennial Private issue good for One Can Beer.  Mintage 1,000.  Not previously listed.  It sold the following week to a single bidder for the opening price of $7.50 plus $2.00 shipping.

7/24/21

Hawaii, Honolulu.  1976 Hawaii Dollar.  No chamber of Commerce variety.  Sold to a single bidder for the 99¢ plus $4.00 starting bid.

7/24/21

Michigan, Algonac.  1967 Centennial Half Dollar.  Very slightly circulated.  Sold to a single bidder who placed a second, unused, bid - and won it for the opening price of $9.99 plus $3.50 shipping.

7/25/21

Connecticut, Haddam.  1962 300th Anniversary Half Dollar.  Start $2.09 plus $2.79 shipping.  No bids.  Not relisted.

7/25/21

Iowa, Emmetsburg.  1996 Irish Dollar.  Sold to a single bidder for the $2.09 plus $2.79 starting bid.

7/25/21

Nebraska, North Platte.  Undated Buffalo Bill Cody Official Commemorative Coin.  This one numbered 4490.  The start was $19.99 with FREE shipping.  Listed 8 weeks at that start with no bids - then ended by the seller “because the item is no longer available”.

7/25/21

Wyoming, Cheyenne.  1963-1964 Frontier Nights Frontier Buck.  Unknown mintage.  Catalog value $3.00.  The first time noted here.  Called Rare by the seller.  Start $24.99 plus $4.15 shipping.  No bids until August 15 when it sold for the opening price to a single bidder.

7/26/21

Alaska, Whittier.  1969 City of Whittier Birthdate Private issue One Jolt at the Bar Token for the Sportsman’s Inn.  Start $3.00 plus $1.00 postage.  There were two bids and it sold for $4.25.  Not bad!

7/26/21

Hawaii, Kona.  1975 Kona Dollar.  Sold to a single bidder for the $1.95 plus $4.00 starting bid.

7/26/21

Ohio, Newark.  1952 Sesquicentennial Half Dollar.  Uncirculated.  Start just $1.99 but with a $4.15 postal charge.  There were no bids during the initial week so the seller ended the listing unsold.  It came back a few days later as a Buy It Now item for $18.99 plus - if the original $4.15 wasn’t high enough already - an exorbitant $4.90 postage charge.  Still available two months later, but currently available on a 15% off sale - just $16.14.  Come on seller…if nobody wanted it for $1.99, how many people will want it for $18.99, or even at the “bargain” sale price of $16.18 plus postage?  Some sellers are knowledgeable and fair, and others are always ready to take advantage of the uninformed and inexperienced - and then have the gall to gouge them on the postage.  This token will be worth this amount someday, but there are currently more than enough to supply the very limited demands of today’s collectors.

7/26/21

Oregon, Baker.  1982 Baker County Miner’s Jubilee Good for One Drink at My Place private issue.  I was the only bidder at the $4.95 plus $3.99 starting bid.  An improvement to the About Uncirculated one I bought a while back.

7/26/21

Tennessee, Harriman.  1965 75th Anniversary Half Dollar.  About Uncirculated, which is typical for this issue.  Unlike the the Newark, Ohio listing above, a truly scarce token.  Start $24.99 plus an outrageous $5.00 postage.  It came back the following week for a $19.98 start plus a much more reasonable $2.50 postage fee.   Still no bids, then it came back for $16.00 plus $2.50.  All  right - now I’ll bid.  If I can pick it up for less than $20.00 all in, I will be happy to add it to my duplicate box.  Unfortunately after just 16 minutes at this new lower start, the seller ended the listing “because there was an error in the listing”.  Hmmm.

7/27/21

Arizona, Prescott.  1915 Frontier Day Dollar.  Nice About Uncirculated, a few spots of tin pest, otherwise nearly Uncirculated.  Start $2.99 plus $3.50.  After 13 bids by 4 bidders it sold for $27.92.

7/27/21

Florida, Palm Beach.  1973 Palm Beach Sand Dollar.  Start $4.99 plus $4.  There were no bids during the initial week, so the seller ended his listing unsold.

7/28/21

Alaska.  Alaska Boosters Land of the Midnight Sun Dollar.  Start $2.25 plus $1.50, and it sold to the second bidder for $3.09.

7/28/21

Alaska, Indian.  1967 Alaska Purchase Centennial Private Issue One Drink Token for Jim’s Saloon.   Numbered 1552.  Start $5.95 with FREE shipping, and sold for the price to the lone bidder.

7/28/21

New York, Hudson.  1959 Edmonds Hose Company Half Dollar. Uncirculated, or very close, with numerous bag marks and some light scratches.  Start 99¢ plus $3.95.  After 6 bids by 4 bidders it sold for $3.11.

7/28/21

Oregon, The Dalles.  1959 Oregon Centennial Half Dollar.  Very slightly circulated and with hundreds of tiny spots on each side - still an attractive piece.  Start $1.99 or $5.95 Buy It Now.  Either way with a $3.00 shipping charge.  Nobody bid, so the next week the seller made it a bid item only with a 99¢ start, but still with the $3.00 shipping fee.  It caught the attention of 2 bidders who each placed two bids, and it sold for $2.27.

7/28/21

South Dakota, Sioux Falls.  1960 (61) Dakota Territory Centennial Half Dollar.  Cooperating and circles version.  Very slightly circulated.  Sold to a single bidder for the $2.25 plus $1.50 starting bid.

7/29/21

Colorado, Leadville.  Undated Days of ’79 Blue Cardboard 100 (Dollar} with Image of an Elk.  Unknown mintage.  Not previously listed.  tokencatalog.com lists a similar 50(¢) in white cardboard as well as the same two denominations in rectangular cardboard that are dated 1924 and including a message indicating they were good at local merchants during the Days of ’79 re-enactment, essentially confirming their Municipal Token status.  I was - quite surprisingly - the only bidder and won it for the opening bid of $9.99 with FREE shipping.

7/29/21

Iowa, Lewis.  Undated (1954) (Centennial) Nickel.  Extremely Fine, no luster.  Sold to a single bidder for the $9.99 plus $3.98 start.

7/29/21

Iowa, Pella.  2003 Dutch Dollar.  Mintage 1,400.  Not previously cataloged, but it probably will list for about $7.50.  This one was $6.00 plus $4.25 shipping.  There were no bids and it was not relisted “because the item is no longer available”.

7/29/21

Texas, Corpus Christi.  1947 Buccaneer Days Nickel and Quarter.  The pair was offered for $13.88 plus $3.99 shipping.  The next week it came back at a $12.95 for a couple weeks - then for $11.95 and finally for just $9.95 - which was really too cheap for the pair of these, and when there were no bids, the lot was ended by the seller.

7/30/21

Nebraska, Schuyler - Colfax County.  1970 Centennial Dollar.  An unattractive About Uncirculated example.  Start $9.99 plus $5.00 shipping.  Listed at this price until August 17 when the seller ended his listing unsold.

7/31/21

Alaska.  1962 Alaska Boosters Dollar.  Sold to a single bidder for the $1.50 with FREE shipping start.

7/31/21

California, Lodi.  1976 U.S. Bicentennial One Drink token private issue for the El Toro CB Radio Club.  The start was $12.25 ($16.00 BIN) plus $2.00 shipping.  No bids at first, but it came back the following week and sold for the Buy It Now price.
